How I got 10,000 Blog Views in 30 Days

When you have a blog, the most common question you ask yourself is how to drive traffic to your site so as many people as possible can see the content you put hours into creating. Same here. I’ve tried many different strategies to get people to my site, created posts for Instagram, Instagram Story, Facebook.. but it never really “blew up”. Not because my content was bad but just because I was the only one sharing it on my social media channels.

I’ve always known that Pinterest is one of the best ways to generate traffic for your website. The only ‘problem’ was that you’d have to pin a lot to get the search engine working for you. So I’d spent two hours a day pinning to my boards but got tired of it pretty quickly. Two hours a day are just way too much to be spending on one platform. A few months ago though, I discovered a game changer – Tailwind.
Tailwind is an official Pinterest and Instagram partner that allows you to schedule your pins, photos and videos. Instead of pinning your pins to Pinterest directly, you pin them to Tailwind into a queue and they auto post them at the best times to your selected boards on Pinterest. I invest about two hours a week to schedule pins for about three weeks and then I don’t have to worry about them anymore.

The best feature on Tailwind is this though: Tailwind Tribes. Tribes are basically group boards where you share each other’s content. When posting your content into a Tribe, other Tribe members can re-pin it to their boards which can increase your reach drastically, depending on the tribes you’ve joined.

To get other tribe members to re-share your content, make sure you get these 3 things right first. If you don’t, Tribes won’t be much of a help!

  1. Content is King:

First and most importantly is to create content with some kind of value (!!!) for your readers. Unless you’re super famous or already have a huge audience, no one wants to know what your day looked like. So make sure you give your audience something in return for their time (information, solve a problem etc.). I can’t stress about this enough.

  2. Images:

Your pictures should be high quality. Especially for Pinterest they need to be outstanding. Remember, Pinterest is a search engine, not a social media platform! You don’t need a professional camera, a good phone camera will do.

  3. Graphics:

Create a Pinterest graphic that makes it clear what your blog post is about. A graphic can be a photo combined with the title of your blog post for example. It needs to catch potential readers’ attention within a second! If you don’t know how to use Photoshop to create those graphics, Canva is a great and easy tool that offers many different templates.

  4. Tailwind and Tailwind Tribes:

As mentioned before, instead of pinning your pins to Pinterest, you pin them to Tailwind. They then will be automatically pinned to your boards at the best times. You also want to pin your content to the Tribes you’ve joined so they can be seen and shared by other Tribe members. This will increase the reach of your pin and drive more traffic to your website.

I will be digging into Tailwind and Tailwind Tribes more and explain how it works so make sure you join my email list!
