How To: Basket Wall (No Nails)

EN: I love trying out new ideas and when I came across a picture of different baskets hanging on a wall I new straight away: this is going to be my next project. Well kind of, it took a bit longer BUT I got there in the end! I don’t know about you guys, but I didn’t have too many baskets laying around at home so we went on a basket hunt. Since I absolutely didn’t want to buy new baskets, Matt and I went to several flea markets in Sydney and gathered a nice collection of baskets in the end (it took a few weekends but it was totally worth it and plus – I love strolling through flea markets.)

The project execution was super easy, even without using nails! Here’s a step-by-step guide:

DE: Ich liebe es neue Ideen auszuprobieren und als ich vor einer Weile über ein Bild mit verschiedenen Körben an der Wand gestossen bin, wusste ich direkt: das wird mein nächstes Projekt! Naja, es hat etwas länger gedauert als erwartet, ABER ich bin an mein Ziel angekommen. Denn, ich weiss ja nicht wie es bei euch so aussieht, aber ich hatte nicht etliche Körbe zu Hause rumliegen. Von daher hiess es zunächst einmal auf Korbjagt gehen. Da ich auf gar keinen Fall neue Körbe kaufen wollte, haben Matt und ich Flohmärkte in Sydney abgeklappert und sind schliesslich fündig geworden (auch wenn wir dazu an ein paar Wochenenden losziehen mussten, es hat sich gelohnt und ich liebe es ja über Flohmärkte zu schlendern!).

Das Ganze umzusetzen war auch mega einfach, sogar ganz ohne Nägel in die Wände zu schlagen. Wie einfach erkläre ich euch hier:

WHAT YOU’LL NEED // WAS DU BRAUCHST:

♦ Baskets // Körbe

♦ Command Hooks (different sizes depending on weight of basket) // Klebehaken (verschiedene, je nach Gewicht der Körbe)

♦ Pencil // Stift

♦ Nylon thread (transparent) // Angelschnur (transparent)

HOW TO:

Cut the nylon thread in the right length and tie the ends to both sides of your basket. Make sure the thread is not too long otherwise the basket will be too low and you’ll be able to see the hooks. // Schneide die Angelschnur in die richtige Laenge und befestige beide Enden an die gegenueber liegenden Enden des Korbes. Achte darauf, dass die Schnur nicht zu lang ist, da der Korb sonst zu tief haengt und die Haken sichtbar sind.
Align the baskets on the floor to make sure you like their arrangement on the wall. // Arrangiere die Körbe auf dem Boden so, wie du sie an die Wand anbringen möchtest.
Hold the basket against the wall and mark the spot where the hook needs to be. // Halte den Korb an die Wand und markiere die Stelle, wo der Haken angebracht werden soll.
Attach the hooks to the wall as described on package. // Bringe die Haken wie auf der Verpackung beschrieben an die Wand an.
Hang basket with nylon thread on hook. // Haenge den Korb mit der Nylonschnur am Haken auf.
Repeat with each basket until all baskets are up on the wall. // Wiederhole den Vorgang bis alle Körbe an der Wand sind.
